• Welcome to our blog

Our shared values in Y5: To care for myself and others by making sure we are all safe and happy. To be honest in all we do/say. We always work hard and try our best. We listen carefully and thoroughly. We make sure we are always giving our best, so everyone else can be the best that they can be. We look after our property.
We like to be 'leaders' and not 'followers' We always choose the 'good' light inside of us. We make the right choices at the right time.

Anyone can train hard for a short period. Winners give their best every hour of every day for months on end.

In 5V we like to stop and think - before we do or speak.

'Give children a thought and they’ll learn for a day. Teach them to think and they’ll learn for a lifetime.’David Hyerle
If you can imagine it, you can achieve it; if you can dream it, you can become it.- William Arthur Ward
You cannot write it, if you cannot say it; you cannot say it, if you haven't heard it. - Pie Corbett

We love to share our way of thinking, it does help us in our learning!

Y5!  We’ve been looking at the Water Cycle – we only made a start – and lots of questions have been asked by some of you. I’ve found you a fantastic link about clouds – and clouds in art [as you can see]. Please click HERE to read more about types of clouds, how clouds are formed, tornadoes, hurricanes, heat waves, etc. Some people do ‘cloud spotting’ [me too!] and like to take pictures of interesting clouds. See the bottom image -the link is on the image – you can go to the link to see more interesting clouds.

The Rain

When fresh water leaves the salty sea
God’s distillation starts in vapour phase
Molecules rise up to velvet clouds
Drifting swiftly overland in days

The sun withdraws itself from sight
As rainclouds fill the sky
Tons of liquid water fast descend
Nowhere anywhere is dry

Every pipe and reservoir
Fluid-filled and choked
And those exposed on land are
Very wet and soaked

But this is just the sacrifice
That we on land must make
It’s needed for the upkeep
Of every stream and lake

And most of all we need
The rains to bless the farm
Sustaining us in daily life
In spite of seeming harm

Like any other cycle
It must complete its course
Cascading to the oceans
With overwhelming force
