• Welcome to our blog

Our shared values in Y5: To care for myself and others by making sure we are all safe and happy. To be honest in all we do/say. We always work hard and try our best. We listen carefully and thoroughly. We make sure we are always giving our best, so everyone else can be the best that they can be. We look after our property.
We like to be 'leaders' and not 'followers' We always choose the 'good' light inside of us. We make the right choices at the right time.

Anyone can train hard for a short period. Winners give their best every hour of every day for months on end.

In 5V we like to stop and think - before we do or speak.

'Give children a thought and they’ll learn for a day. Teach them to think and they’ll learn for a lifetime.’David Hyerle
If you can imagine it, you can achieve it; if you can dream it, you can become it.- William Arthur Ward
You cannot write it, if you cannot say it; you cannot say it, if you haven't heard it. - Pie Corbett

We love to share our way of thinking, it does help us in our learning!

Star-s of the month

In Y5 we have a couple of Y5’s who got a special certificate on Friday! They got a ‘Star-of-the-month-certificate. The following children qualified for our Star-of-the-month certificate: Ruben – for improving behaviour 500% since day 1 in Y5 and for inspiring his whole group [Team GB] to be the best, Taljot – our purrrrrrr-fect punctuation lady – Taljot worked really hard on getting her punctuation perfect! Jeevan and Keerat – for always being fantastic role models, Harnoor, Anaya,  Navkiran and Harveen S – for always doing just the right thing every time and to respond on the very first request, Manjot – for improving his concentration, listening skills and trying his very best to improve his behaviour as well. Sukhman will get a special certificate [on our first day back] as a Star-of-the-day – for Friday’s brilliant behaviour. Even Gurjoth wrote a ‘smiley’-box message, saying how fantastic Sukhman  behaved during break and lunch on Friday. Sukhman, we are all proud of you – and we hope to see many more names over the next half term with our next ‘Star-of-the-month-entry! We will also have a new certificate: ‘writer of the month‘! – still marking stories, so will announce the ‘writers’ when all stories have been marked!
